Soldiers was about a Dominion officer whose idealism led her to choose an assignment on a planet where illegal mining was taking place. They clashed with Dominion law enforcement and accidentally set a dangerous Dark Templar prisoner loose. Scavengers seemed to take a little inspiration from the original Starcraft's opening cinematic with a group of scavengers attempting to loot a derelict Protoss ship. Dark Horse had previously collaborated with Blizzard on Overwatch comics and World of Warcraft art & lore books and they were also involved with the Nova: The Keep webcomic done to promote Nova Covert Ops. By this point, Blizzard had started reprinting the PocketStar, Wildstorm, and TokyoPop books under the Blizzard Legends label. All three series are available in trade paperback form. They did a total of three of them with four issues each and subtitled with a word beginning with S: Scavengers, Soldiers, and Survivors. After a few years without new Starcraft books it was surprising to hear Dark Horse Comics announce their first Starcraft miniseries.
