What software do you feel is more prevalent in the industry? I also understand programming in principle, but other than some very basic stuff I haven’t been actively using Master CAM or anything. I am well versed in Solidworks, Inventor, and AutoCAD, but I haven’t worked with either software. I’m seeing a lot of the Arch Millwork and Custom Cabinetry based companies using either Micro Vellum or Cabinet Vision.
Most of my experience in my career has been in the furniture industry, but recently I have been gaining more experience in Architectural Millwork and case goods, and I want to explore the Architectural Millwork industry more, especially with the strength of the industry where I am currently living.
I’m currently looking for work right now and while I have the down time I figure it may be a good idea to do some training on new software if I can through a trial.
